Sarah Kelly MBACP Counselling in Mid Sussex

Some Questions You May Have

What will happen at our first session?
Our first session will last for 30 minutes and allows me to understand what brings you to counselling, allows you to ask any questions you have about our counselling sessions and for us both to get to know each other.

I can’t draw, how can creativity help me?
You don’t need to be able to draw. The creativity techniques we would use are not about creating art. Instead they are about using a different medium to explore your issues. Sometimes it can be very hard to talk about what matters most to us and using creative tools can help you to find the words. I will never make you do anything you are not comfortable with.

How much will it cost?
I offer a free initial 30 minute introductory session.

If we are both happy to continue, further sessions will be for 50 minutes and cost £55 per online or Walk and Talk sessions and £65 for in person room based sessions

How can I pay?
You can pay by cash(face to face sessions only) credit/debit card or bank transfer.

How long will it take?
I offer both short term and open-ended counselling. We will discuss at your introductory session what will be of most benefit to you depending on what you would like to achieve.

Do I have to come weekly?
It is beneficial to attend weekly but I appreciate that this is not always possible. I can accommodate fortnightly sessions.

What if I need to cancel?
Sometimes it may be necessary to cancel an appointment, all I ask is that you give me at least 24 hours notice or the full fee will be payable. You may cancel by email or text.

What is Walk and Talk?
Walk and Talk sessions are taken outside. We will walk in a green space in and around Haywards Heath while we have our session. The routes have been chosen to offer a gentle walk and you do not need to be super fit to be able to do this. I do suggest you have a pair of good walking shoes but unless you chose it, I will avoid overly muddy paths. For more information please see the Walk and Talk page.

Why would I want to do Walk and Talk?
You may prefer to have a counselling session in person rather than online and Walk and Talk offers a way to do this safely. Many people find being outside in nature is therapeutic and adds to the value of their counselling experience. I am happy for you to try this and change to online sessions if you feel it doesn’t suit you.
